I am absolutely delighted when people come to my shows and remark, “Your glass just makes me happy!” I have heard this enough times that I have come to think of my glass work as “happy glass,” and I can think of no greater compliment!
Working with glass continues to fascinate me. I am truly amazed by the endless possibilities that can be created through color, form, light, texture, heat and gravity when working with glass. My work is hand-cut from compatible glass, fused in the kiln at approximately 1,450 degrees Fahrenheit and cold-worked to obtain the desired finish. Works requiring form or dimension are returned to the kiln for a second firing at approximately 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit to allow the glass to slump into a mold and morph into the desired shape. Many of my pieces have been fired three or four times. All functional pieces are food-safe and should be hand-washed.
